Our chemically pure stock of powder methiopropamine (MPA) is another popular item that has drawn a lot of interest from researchers around the world in the past few years. While this chemical has been known to the scientific world since 1942, it has only recently come into the focus of attention, so this online shop is one of the few places where you can buy methiopropamine and be 100% certain about the chemical properties of the compound.

Methiopropamine is a selective norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor, also exhibiting some signs of serotonine reuptake suppression. It is 1.85 times more selective for norepinephrine than for dopamine, but still just about one third as efficient as dextroamphetamine in terms of NPI activity. The substance bears IUPAC name 1-(thiopen-2yl-methylaminopropane and has a molecular mass of 155.261 g/mol, while its molecular formula is C8H13NS. MPA is a very hydrophilic substance, which strongly indicates the possibility of its excretion via the urinary tract along with its metabolites.

It is important to note that while MPA is a structural analogue of methamphetamine containing another thiophene ring, it doesn’t belong to either phenetylamines or amphetamines and is not a functional analogue of substances from these groups. This is a fact that researchers looking into methiopropane dosage and safety need to take into account when designing their experiments.

Chemical-grade methiopropamine can be found in two forms, as powder or crystal, without any difference in purity or effects. You can order methiopropamine powder from our selection of research chemicals, but please be aware that its use is limited to in vitro experiments under controlled conditions, and that in vivo research is strictly prohibited under any circumstances. MPA is not formally a scheduled substance, but various regulations may apply under local jurisdictions.
