As a stimulant and comparable chemical to diethylpropion, Alpha-PPP (AKA α-Pyrrolidinopropiophenone or α-PPP) has been documented within animal studies to have caused a stimulant and general sympathomimetic effect. Alpha-PPP has not seen much use within the research chemical community despite being extremely similar to other well-known compounds such as Methcathinone, Pyrovalerone and MDPV.
Another compound which bares chemical resemblance to Alpha-PPP is MPPP with a similar pharmacodynamics profile. Some strong links have been seen in vitro with other comparable chemicals such as diethylcathinone and diethylpropion.
Alpha-PPP has a lower predicted affinity for the monoamine transporter proteins; DAT (dopamine), SERT (serotonin) and noradrenalin (NET). Furthermore, Alpha-PPP has been identified as producing various metabolites in laboratory studies, one of which being cathinone.
