6-APB (AKA (6-(2-aminopropyl)benzofuran or Benzofury) is possibly one of the very first research chemicals to be branded and released to the research chemical community back in the early days of novel online compound availability. Along with Mephedrone, 6-APB has been sold since 2010 and has extensive research surrounding its use as a research chemical and a designer “legal high”.
Being a member of the Phenethylamine class of stimulants, 6-APB acts as an empathogenic psychoactive with entactogen properties much like its chemical analogue MDA and its unsaturated benzofuran derivative - 6-APDP, research conducted by David E. Nichols in 1993 discovered that there was a potential for 6-APB to be a non-neurotoxic version of MDMA
Chemically speaking 6-APB is structurally similar to 5-APB with some of its affinity for various common monoamine transporter proteins already established. As such, 6-APB is a triple monoamine reuptake inhibitor with Ki values of 117, 150 and 2698 nM for NET, DAT and SERT respectively as well as being a potent agonist for the 5-HT2B receptor (Ki 3.7 nM). Based on its structure, it has also been suggested that the structure-activity relationship would mean that 6-APB is also able to act as a releasing agent at the NET, SERT and DAT transporter proteins.
Customers ordering 6-APB from our online store bear full responsibility to check legal status of this chemical in their home jurisdiction and meet all requirements, if any exist. This and other chemicals sold through the EuChemicals website are intended exclusively for professional laboratory research with adequate conditions and appropriate equipment. Please respect our policies and handle chemical products responsibly while implementing standard safety measures for laboratory work.
